    The Nineteenth Amendment was passed in 1920 granting women the right to vote. This was a huge step towards equality for women. Some say there is more to accomplish in the 21st century, however. Title IX, women in military combat, and equal pay are just some examples of issues about which people are still concerned.

    In today’s society woman are now more equal than ever. But it was not always this way. Up until the twentieth century, (Around the twenties), women ere not even obligated to vote. In fact, it took many years for woman to even be taken seriously in congress. It took many more after that to finally be accepted as legible citizens that possessed rights to vote. Even in the society of today, women all over the country face discrimination. It wasn’t until 2004 that an act was passed support equality for the female sex in schools.

    Equal pay for women is one of the larger issues concerning the “Women’s Suffrage Movement”. For years women in the work place were often considered a lesser advantage, or even a hazard. They were thought of as inefficient thinkers and/or unproductive workers. This reflected much on their pay. For example, why would an employer pay the same amount for an “unproductive female worker” as they would for a “Harder working male”. In certain instances woman’s salary would be cut in half of that of the man’s.
